We hope you are all enjoying the term so far as we approach Reading Week. This will be our last update before then, so we hope you have a lovely and relaxing break from lectures, and we will see you again after!
Silk v Brief Submission Reminder
A reminder that submissions are open for the Spring edition of Silk v Brief, the UCL Law Society’s flagship publication! Getting your work published here is a fantastic opportunity to get engaged with Law Society publications by talking about legal issues you are passionate about. The Winter Edition was the most contributed-to in Law Society’s history, and it would be wonderful if we could carry on that trend!
As well as articles, submissions are open for creative media, too. If you are an artist, photographer, writer, or poet, we would love to showcase your work in Silk v Brief as well, so please send in your submissions.

For more details about exactly what a submission involves, as well as to actually submit your piece, please visit the link here. There will be a prize for the best submission this year, so make sure to get your articles in.

Commercial Awareness Competition Reminder
Thank you to all of the people who signed up to compete in our new and revamped Commercial Awareness Competition. As you will have noticed, some elements of the competition have had to be rescheduled - please follow the information that has already been emailed to you separately about this.
JMC Reminder
A reminder that Round 4 will take place from 5:00-8:00pm on Wednesday 7th February in Bentham House.
Negotiations Competition Reminder
A reminder that the semi-finals will take place from 6:00-9:00pm on Thursday 8th February in Bentham House.
Lunar New Year Dinner Reminder
Although all tickets are sold out, a reminder to attendees of our annual Lunar New Year dinner that it will take place at China City, Russell Square on Tuesday 6th February from 6:00pm. Please get in touch with our DIO Officer at meral.abibula.21@ucl.ac.uk with any questions.
