Dear all,
We hope everyone is settling back into university. Remember that these emails are the only place where you can find all of UCL Law Society’s events and their sign-up links, so please do give these a read over each week or you will miss out!
LGBTQ+ Pub Quiz
UCL Law Society is hosting a pub quiz to celebrate LGBTQ+ history and culture! Free drinks are available to those that come, and the winners of the quiz will get a special prize. The quiz is hosted and put together by our Publications Officer, DIO Officer, and her subcommittee, and we would love it if you could attend - all members of the UCL Law community are welcome.
The quiz will be at The Court, Tottenham Court Road, at 7:30pm on Monday 22nd January. You can compete in a team of maximum five people, and can register your interest to take part using the form here. Only one person in each team needs to fill in the form.
If you have any questions, please contact our DIO Officer at meral.abibula.21@ucl.ac.uk.
LSE-Featherstone Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Moot
The Annual LSE-Featherstone Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Moot is dedicated to the consideration of areas of sexual orientation and gender identity law. This year’s problem is a judicial review claim under the Equality Act and ECHR. UCL is recruiting a team of two mooters to participate. If interested, apply at the form here.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with our Senior Moots Officer at saiba.ahuja.21@ucl.ac.uk.
Deadline: 11:59pm, Friday 26th January
Socioeconomic Mobility Panel
UCL Law Society is hosting an insightful panel with Macfarlanes, Ashurst, and Willkie Farr & Gallagher on the topic of social mobility. You can hear from these firms’ representatives about what resources they offer to aid social mobility, and to learn about these lawyers’ paths into law. This event is open to all UCL Law Society members who wish to attend, regardless of social background.
The event will take place on Monday 15th January at 6:30pm in the Gideon Schreier LT. You can sign up to attend it here.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with our DIO Officer at meral.abibula.21@ucl.ac.uk.
